Wedding Cake, also known as Triangle Mints #23, is an indica-dominant hybrid strain with prominent sweet, earthy, and vanilla flavors and aromas. One of the most popular strains in existence, Wedding Cake is at the top of the list of consumer choices for what is known as desert strains. These strains aim to mimic the rich, creamy tastes of cakes, pies, and candy. Wedding Cake’s scrumptious taste is due to its dominant terpene limonene and its secondary terpene caryophyllene.

Clocking in at an average of 22% THC content, this strain is the outcome of cross-breeding Cherry Pie with GSC. The breeders of this strain are Seed Junky Genetics, who gave Wedding Cake its original name. The breeders remarked that their plants smelled like vanilla cake frosting, and their trichomes resembled the confection as well. Wedding Cake and other dessert strains have inspired many so-called “weed-weddings”, where couples opt for legal cannabis consumption over alcohol.

The Canadian version of Wedding Cake is known as Pink Cookies, and has a lineage of OG and Durban Poison varieties. Wedding Cake has won many awards, most notable of which being 1st prize for Best Hybrid Flower at the 2018 SoCal High Times Medical Cannabis Cup. This example of excellence in cannabis breeding has led to the award-winning Wedding Cake strain, offering a depth of both flavor and effects.

Due to Wedding Cake’s 22% THC content, Wedding Cake should be consumed with caution if you have a low tolerance to cannabis. Some consumers report feeling relaxed, happy, and euphoric when ingesting Wedding Cake. Some common negative side effects of Wedding Cake are dry mouth, dry eyes, and dizziness. HashDash platform users report relief from stress, depression and pain when ingesting Wedding Cake. Wedding Cake may help consumers with conditions like anxiety, PTSD, and Bipolar Disorder.

My favourite strain!!

I have a sweet tooth (as you can probably tell from my favorite cultivars), and one way I satisfy those cravings is by opting for fruity/tropical cultivars instead of sugary treats. Wedding Cake is at the top of my list, with its creamy flavor that reminds me of a rich dessert. The other night, I was looking for a mix of creativity and relaxation as I settled into some writing, and Wedding Cake was the perfect companion. After consuming a .5g pre-roll, I immediately felt a wave of calm and mental clarity. Safe to say, I wrote for about an hour straight. This has officially become my go-to creativity portal cultivar.
